Lowering blood pressure reduces diabetic deaths

Treating diabetics with a combination of angiotensin converting enzyme (perindopril) and duretic (indapamide) lowers blood pressure and reduces the risk of cardiovascular events, including death from diabetes complications, by 20 percent.
